Not sure Jezza - takeover scenarios have been discussed a bit here in the past with the conclusion seeming to be that it would be pretty unlikely to happen, but we can all be bought for a price, although I think that was prior to the Brazil permits being given much value. Petrobras has some pretty large expenditure coming up with Tupi and Carioca so doubtful they would be on the takeover trail as they will have plenty of organic growth coming from those.
Who knows what the future holds re takeover, but the longer they sit around the current sp whilst having permits in the best addresses, the more interest will gravitate towards them imho. Timing is obviously the major factor - do you take them out before they have proven up anything but are relatively cheap, or do you take them out once they have proven up a large juicy resource at Browse and got some promising 3D seismic for Brazil and Peru?
