    I think it was probably arcing from electrical lines. Depends upon the voltages and currents involved but high voltage high current lines are not easily “interrupted” i.e. turned off, they have a momentum of a kind and form transients that will arc. Look into to design of high voltage switchgear. It isn’t easy. And yes, I am a qualified Electrical Engineer.
