nowhere is ever safe anytime - but, in a pandemic - in particular

one always has to be vigilant

complacency breeds bad practices - like shit buildings that we have lived with all our lives just waiting for the right pathogen to come along

like having to use door handles in public buildings, like handrails that don't have silver in the metal - or using copper etc.

like having people go to work with the 'sniffles' - and a 'soldier on attitude

like building huge supermarkets instead of having smaller ones on each block or similar

like having thousands of people crammed into trains and buses ------- what do we think that looks like to contagious pathogens ? - heaven or difficult terrain?

like not having social welfare systems set up so, at one stroke of the keyboard you can get funds and services to your population instead of them having to line up all along the streets and around corners

like having 10 million single use masks in emergency stocks when you have a population of 25 million ------------ enough masks to do half of your population for a few hours

like having a casualised health workforce - and, indeed a fully casualised workforce - a very very very foreseeable risk
and, business thought a very good cost saving idea - may one ask - how's that cost saving going for ya?

all of these things are just disasters waiting to happen

Nowhere is safe -------------- and, it's been that way for as long as I can remember and we haven't actually done much about it - indeed, we have done far more to assist the insecurity of it
