there were 22 applications for the 3 blocks so i guess we have a 1 in 7 chance.

obviously linc can differentiate themselves from the other 21 via their ucg to liquids rather than surface gasification to liquids.

i believe the coal in all three blocks is at a depth of 300m.

so shiv-vani and linc's capex and opex will be significantly less than that of sasol and the other applicants which may be appealing to the government along with the benefit of not scarring the landscape with mining etc.

it's an interesting distraction from the wait for liquids at chichilla and the emerald jorc.
