Do I think things have gone as well as should have been expected? Then the answer is no.
It would have been much better to have had the Iraq military surrender while still reasonably intact. Give them major city security while retraining them as well as the police and at the same time begin working on the electoral process.
Of Course that’s all very easy to say.
I’ve yet to hear any of the incessant whiners suggest anything other than by default a return to the status quo eg (Saddam) It seems clear that many prefer to believe Iraq can only be controlled by the Iron fist and whim of a military dictatorship or something simular.
If that’s the case it is only logical to assume that the same persons consider the society dysfunctional as well as culturally and intellectually violent.
