A double dissolution does not guarantee the governing party will gain a majority of seats in the Senate. It is easier for minor parties to achieve quota to gain Senate seats in a double dissolution than in a half Senate election.
Our political environment is highly polarized at the present time. In my view, in the contest for Senate seats in a double dissolution will not be a one-sided affair.
