'It will erode the retail property sector to historic lows'

Bit melodramatic. In the medium term I dont think Centro going down would have any detrimental effect on CBA or the property sector. Centro assets would simply be carved up amongst the vultures. It's no coincidence that no majors are interested in buying Centro assets now. They know if the cards fall right they can attain the assets for a song and remove a competitor. Might not pan out that way but there's no rush to buy Centro's assets right now.
