Hmm, thats not quite right...some do work, and guys like Twiggy Forrest have done a lot towards putting others into the workforce in the mining industry.

But back to why they didnt work.....it was because they didnt have to......
The govt of the day gave them more money & benefits for NOT working than if they had been working....so even those with jobs chucked them & got on the gravy train......
Who would work if they got more for not working than for working?
If all whites had been given the same deal, nobody would have worked, just about.
And a lot dont and havent for 3 generations....there are families with 3 generations who have never held a job in their lives....
So you cant blame the Aboriginals for accepting what they could get. But in the end they lost their self esteem, through living a purposeless life...... and self esteem is hard to get back.
