If there was problem with the "mother's" 3 lap tops .... that was resolved ...... that should have been the end on the matter.
Random checks like that one don't deter terrorists because the likelihood of a terrorist being selected for such a pat down are still low.
Why they picked on the child rather than the mother herself seems crazy. Maybe they have to perform a quota of searches regardless of the passenger's age or disability ....... but it is all useless distraction from actual areas of risk ....... for example passengers carrying fire arms.
To note, if the guy was not a TSA officer he would be charged as a pedophile having found a need to feel up the boy's testicles and crotch not once but twice. What was that about?
