There is no doubting that if you got on from Ringwood to say Wellington Road, the trip is much more pleasant, no lights, light traffic and a smooth run. I reckon, it would save around 10 minutes driving time.

If you travelled the whole length of Eastlink, no doubt the trip would cut off a fair bit of time. So, yeah, it does save time and a lot of frustration that can build up from stop-start at traffic lights etc. on alternative routes like Springvale Rd or Stud Rd.

Is it worth the money for the toll? Well, that's a question that is slowly being answered by the lack of users. The numbers are not all that encouraging.
