Good morning investors, just wanted to share my personal shopping experience with Cettire. I've had it on my watch list for sometime and when I needed to buy a luxury bag for my mum's 60th from the family, I thought I would purchase on Cettire to test the business. Prior to ordering I read a string of negative reviews on productreview.com.au but decided to give the benefit of doubt. One of the things that appealed was the complimentary express shipping as I needed quickly.
Last Tuesday I purchased a Gucci handbag. From memory I ordered on my laptop and used Shopify to auto fill details as I do with all transactions on my computer. I immediately received an order confirmation. I received no shipping details all week, but had read on reviews that this has been a common occurrence so didn't worry about it.
On Friday I received an email stating that my order would not be fulfilled as it was flagged as a 'high risk transaction', suggesting that the details may not have matched the card or billing/ shipping details didn't match and their systems have recently strengthened.
I was told in a response email that my funds would be returned "soon". This was alarming as I had read reviews of people waiting for money for returns etc got some weeks. As an ASX listed company I would expect that the company could comfortably say something along the lines of "within 5 business days" or similar. Anyway I am pleased and relieved to say that the funds have been released back to me this morning which is a quick turn around.
As a regular shopper on Net-a-porter/ OUTNET, MyTheresa and many other online brands, can honestly say this has never happened to me before. Surely rather than turning away legitimate orders the company could contact purchases that their systems flag to feel out if they are genuine and complete the transaction over the phone or redirect them to a payment gateway?
I ended up going to David Jones on the Saturday morning to purchase a YSL bag with my two young children in tow which was not convenient or easy for me.
I will personally not be investing in Cettire. DYOR etc etc.
