what you said yesterday is proving prophetic
the shorts are finding it increasingly difficult to close out the short positions that they are opening earlier in the day, by day's end
hence open short positions are rising dramatically
as of 6 days ago we had 59 million open short positions and given that they are making up 30-40 % of gross sales per day, I am guessing the actual short position as of today is over 62 million
where they will get these shares from is anybody's guess
but my own suspicion (and the reason for the frenetic short activity of late) is that they want to force to index funds to sell out at the end of the month because PNV has fallen out of the ASX 200
so the question is whether the index funds really are big chumps, or not ...
