It's not a mystery as to why the SP is going down....
It is a mystery as to why the shorting is so determined and keeps upping the risk.
I thought I would look at the cost to buy all the short positions at any given day using the daily high price. against the # shorts and SP
This is the minimum cash at risk for open shorts assuming unlimited sellers and no SP change. It shows that it will cost the roughly th same for 60 million shorts at $1 to exit as 40 million shorts @$1.75. So the lower the SP is allowed to fall the easier it is to take the short volume higher.
Now add in the need for index funds to sell off when the market cap goes below it is a winning formula. The spanner in the works is if buyers come in and push the SP but the lower the price the more ammunition the shorters will have.
Conversely the more risk i applied if the buyers step in in volume.
It gives me heart to hold tight to my shares. Eventually they will get the goal or get burnt and the SP will start to reflect real value.
