I was thinking loud and I was asking questions if shorters must buy shares on market to cover? My conclusion is they don't. To avoid short squeeze I believe they can pay cash if the lender agrees. My other question is can shorters buy the shares from the lender to cover providing they are OK to sell? I am only asking the questions because I have this conspiracy theory that some lenders and shorters are in it together. This is America we we talking about and we know the biggest pharmas are there.
