I would argue the opposite albaicin. Finding people to hire in a highly specialised spade is actually more difficult than hiring new staff for a general industry.
A highly specialised space (niche) such as polynovo usually means hiring from competitors. How else do you find someone with at least 3 years sales experience in the industry (their Utah role open currently is asking for 3 years sales experience in wound care)
What is good is 3 years isn't a lot of experience and it also suggest the sales roles aren't too senior (senior sales roles often look at 10-15 years experience) so there will be a larger pool of candidates due to lower experience levels (pyramid effect- highly experienced at the top)but the negative is hiring in a specialised area there is less candidates not more.

what they could do in addition is look further afield and hire reps with sales experience that have sold other products into hospitals. Training the product is easier than finding someone who has sold into the hospital setting is my guess for this company.
Hey I'm all for hiring more sales reps but it's not like buying more widgets, there is a sales process in recruitment in getting these people on board; the notice period, etc. People in secure jobs now with the competition may be less likely to move to a new job that's naturally more uncertain when there are macro conditions at play such as rising mortgage payments that effect them
