bro one (the long desk) is watching porn, the other (the short desk) is playing LOL
bro one looks up and says to no one in particular, I think I'll sell 10 million longs in PNV
bro two looks up and say wow that is amazing timing because i was just thinking of buying 10 million to close my shorts
and even better (they say together) we can milk our clients for commission fees in the process
the problem I have with this fairy tale, is, why is the long desk selling
after all their fiduciary duty is to their long clients and not to bro two at the short desk
the share price is going up, the fundamentals are good and the shorts are bailing (meaning that the shorts see the price going up)
so how exactly do they justify their action
or is it that they have just been watching too much porn?
