Well explained whytee. I was looking at LICs last week and there was one with international as a large portion of the fund, but it had held up very well compared to other LICs. I thought it was because of the international exposure at first, but that didn't make sense. Looking further I saw they had a strategy of around 20-30% shorting, which made sense looking at the last 12 months.
