I have been playing with short data on 14 stocks since late March. My system is showing all 3 indicators for Lynas as a buy since late Aug. PNV has only shown a buy on 1 indicator for 2 days running 3 times since March and once for 3 days running. Last Friday is showing a buy but todays price fall will put paid to it showing a 2nd.

I'll post when my system is showing it as a buy for a bit of added interest. To my way of thinking the bottom this time is about $1.30 unless the USA reverses.

I believe long term in the stock and sold half at $3.50 on the way down and bought on the way down from about $2.20 to about $1.20 and pulled an order at 86c because I was over weight. I am trying to better understand the shorts to better time my entry. I have studied the regulations governing them and looking at their methods across 14 stocks.

You mentioned you don't trust the reporting on a given day as there are instances of misreporting quite often. I know where you are coming from but there were big returns for LKE, CXO, IMU, PLS, PNV, SYA, SYR and VUL on 12th Sept and big % of Fridays volume were short for LKE, PLS, IMU, SYA and SYR so some return shares and some continue the assault. It is an averages game largely and the more liquid a stock the harder they go.
