Even 1 c every trade would make a dent in the HFT model.
If I were the ASX with an effective monopoly on after hours trading, I would be inching up the HFT price until one of the players leaves and then set the price 10 BP below that.leave the it there. HFT could not afford the alternative and as long as they are making some margin they will stay.
