Loving the analysis! I tend to treat the gross numbers with extreme skepticism.
I used to graph PNV shorts over long time periods and the trends were the most useful information. If the shorts and SP were in opposite slopes then usually they were the predominant driver. When they were going up together then bulls were running.
when the SP and shorts were going down the bears had played hard and shorts making money.
