Agree BG both DW and SR deserve credit for their contributions and as a LTH very grateful for their work.
I will correct you on SR being a first time CEO , he ran many companies and regions and much larger and complex businesses than PNV as well as small businesses. When he joined he made it clear this was a passion project for a great product after a very successful long term global career in the big end of town. His CV is worth a read and my concern is that we will not get as higher calibre replacement as what we had in him especially to manage our globalisation, a more complex pipeline and operating model. His execution of the strategy was excellent and the dollar growth and profitability was accelerating, to investors in there comments on slowing growth place to much focus on % growth it’s the dollars that count. The growth prospects and P&L has never been in better shape which makes the share price performance very disappointing.
His weakness was managing the investor community and communication especially we the retail investors . That’s DW great strength as well as his astuteness in capital markets.
The Board and DW weakness is Succession planning 3rd time no CEO replacement and the operational management of the business and consistency in delivering against milestones. Pre SR Hernia , Breast collaboration and operational effectiveness in any market outside of Australia and the the US was a slow start until the current leadership under Ed Groubert.
Both DW and SR deserve great credit for where we are in building the business as does PB for his part as well in the early foundational days. Benefit of being a LTH is having seen all of the great contributions made.
What DW and the Board need to do now is urgently replace SR with a high calibre global CEO and in the future ensure we don’t find ourselves in this same situation and don’t create market uncertainty.
