I realised I used "days to close" rather than days to cover which is the correct terminology. My apologies.
Days to cover is a thoeretical calculated indicator that shows how long it would take to close all the short positions based on the average volume traded over a certain number of trading days. It is a relative risk value really and depending on the number of trading days used for the average it can vary from source to source. I used a longish number which seems to work OK. Really I am looking for a trend.
