Far as I know if no lithium in the battery we can still recycle the other elements such as nickel cobalt etc, and the lithium is the least expensive element recovered from the battery black mass.
To date we are using lithium batteries, the chemistry of which is constantly changing to make a longer life faster charge and cheaper better battery, the benefit we have is by not mining we simply recover from spent or failed batteries, as that chemistry make up changes we simply recover differing percentages from same.
We may of course need to adjust the hubs as battery chemistry changes, but do feel we have at least a medium if not long term business in recycling, by the time new battery tech comes along and gets into mass production we shall have several million lithium batteries in circulation that need recycled.
There’s no shortage of lithium deposits in the world just the extraction needs to accelerate to meet demand, our Eli process should certainly help with that, but we’ve several potential high value projects any one of which could be worth current share value, Barrambie off take agreement should be known prior to year end, I’ve all fingers crossed on that one, Loop.
