Naked short selling is illegal, Yes.
So when I say "they are selling shares that don't exist" its not strictly correct - but it is the effect that it has short to medium term. Significant selling over and above what would be being sold (i.e. the shares owners do not intend selling them).
Reddit mobs won't help.
But leys say "unplanned for by the shorters" good news - that will help. I can see quite a few items on the NMT possibilities list that could put a lot of these short sells heavily in the red.
