Short covering is when those who have shares sold short buy them back to cover the short.
This detail from the link below only shows how many were sold short in a day. I tabulate that against the volume for the day to see how much effect that selling would have had on the days trading prices.
I will post later on the aggregate position - which is the total amount of share shorted and its daily change.
