I must say I am a little confused about the short covering on the 24th of November
I note that a special crossing of about 8m shares occurred on this day. So the short covering was not due to the placement stock, which at this point hadnt been issued to placees.
I dont know the price at which these shares were sold to short coverers , or who or which parties sold them?
I wonder if Chris indicated to short coverers that they would not be allowed to cover via the placement so that the sellers on the 24th could make a quid by selling at a price higher than 19c and then replace their positions in the placement at 19c. If so who made the money on this trade?
If any body can provide details of the special crossing ie price and volume on the 24th of November then that would be interesting!
