There is an excellent article in the SMH regarding a relatively new tactic that is becoming rampant in Australia ,....Short and Distort , which is costing investors huge amounts of money.
My view is that it is obvious that the ASX is either asleep at the wheel or doesn’t really care. It is has been obvious to many investors that Shorters have woken up to the fact that they can manipulate the price down by selling small numbers of shares at critical times and push the price down.
It is time that the ASX restricted shorting to major corporations and not small resource companies that are easy to manipulate.
