A few comments on this without looking to deeply into it:

• If you take out those large two trading days (which I assume was the days around the acquisition announcement which entices higher volumes to be traded) the axis of the volume graph will change and it will look much less stable. Said another way - if you cap the axis for volume so you can't see the top of the high volume day then the other trading days will appear to have more variation between them (even though this doesn't actually change anything)
• DDR has a tiny free float as DD/FB own ~70% of company (from memory, don't quote me on exact number) so of the remaining 30% or so you can't expect a huge amount of trading. My best guess is there's a large long-term holder base here - I mean, why wouldn't there be in such a phenomenal business!
• "bot trading" cannot "keep volume down" - side note: bots are used much more than most people here think they are and are responsible for much less than people on hotcopper generally think they are. People are responsible for price movements except in select limited cases e.g. cascading liquidations like we saw in crypto in May 2021. Quant funds might be responsible for certain movements in the market but they generally look to minimise their price impact and I don't think when people say "bot" on Hotcopper they typically are referring to a Quant fund. I have worked for an institutional broker in Aus so feel I can opine on this matter.

Here's the DDR chart with volume using TradingView, looks pretty different and from my perspective pretty normal. Not suppressed.
