Note that ASIC is unable to confirm that short sellers are providing correct data (as per ASIC website). If this is a high conviction short from hedge funds, I would have thought the short positions would have risen with current share price strength, unless they had already maxed out exposure. Alternatively, some of the positions could be a hedge. More likely is the hedge funds are still doubting product pricing (which is not disclosed) in which case the shorts might hold positions until there is firm pricing evidence.
