So an increase in reported shorts as data is released says much about the timing of data release but makes it very difficult for retail share investors to know what is really going on. Just another example of a tilted playing field called ASX.
There was a drop in SP on 1 August but it was not anywhere near the largest drops seen this year. For example, look at 16 May and 27 June. The share price is certainly volatile but nothing that a couple of good announcements won't fix.
