WBT is listed at #35 on ASX 'most shorted list', above them is the likes of say Flight Centre, JB HiFi, Baby Bunting, Harvey Norman, Breville Group - now I know I'm being selective there, but are any of those companies set to suddenly change an entire worldwide industry with the release of new technology? Answer: No..... so its much more manageable to short them with some confidence, and importantly liquidity.....
And so given that on-market is typically ~500K available, as you rightly state, how do you suddenly bank 5% of SOI? This could get ugly correct, but I wonder if that would actually be for retail holders first (who might succumb to a falling knife).....before it suddenly turns northwards. None of this particularly makes sense (to me).
