Yes, retail investors were hurt, but only if they sold. I feel sorry for those retails who were forced to sell at low prices. For those who didn't sell, there was mental hurt and anxiety as they see their investment decline. The lucky ones are those who put them in the bottom drawer and forgot about the market for a year, no daily angst watching their investment disappear thanks to the detritus feeding shorters.
