Not saying it is the case here or not but I have seen errors in the ASIC data before. From memory they had transposed the short positions value for one company against a number of different companies, which resulted in a very sudden and steep incline on the shortman graph for one day before it returned to near enough the previous level. So while I can't see anything obviously wrong with yesterday's ASIC data I wouldn't treat it as infallible, particularly if it doesn't make sense against that days gross short sales or volume.
