But since it appears to do so, i have to assume that some people know. So then my question is who? And why not everyone immediately, in the same way as buying and selling?

I hope I've asked the question clearly enough. Its not about what shorting is, but rather the inner workings of how it works.

As i said, maybe stupid question, bit i cant understand why shorting has a downward pressure if no one knows about it.
