Shorting is an unnecessary evil, the opposite to the FOMO phenomenon.
Everyone has to make their own decisions. I expect that this is being heavily shorted today rather than a significant holder off-loading or shedding their holding, the volume (whilst above average) appears too low.
All I can say is that on the back of some positive news this can turn equally to the upside. TBH I'm not a fan of this huge volatility up or down....
