My understanding (and I'd be very keen to be corrected if my understanding is not correct - I think nooks may have corrected me in the past), is that the net short position change would have to be lower than the gross, hence given only 15k gross the net short position changed must be less.
Given there is approx 5.5m - 6m shares shorted, I thought a 10% movement on over 2m Shares traded there may have been a material component of short covering.
Given it wasn't (tbc), if a material announcement was forthcoming (and we expect it is not far away), how much may the share price move - with "natural" long buying on the positive news (de-risked) combined with some short covering (maybe even forced short covering)?....
