I don't think it is as clean and simple as you make out (difference between practice and theory). Just remember that the shorting helps trigger other sales to drop the price, buying back puts upward pressure in the SP. It's interesting what Buffet said about Tesla. " I wouldn't buy it, but I wouldn't short it either". WBT is been shorted on technical aspects without a full understanding of its potential. Lets see in 5 years who was right
