Only take notice of gross short sales % as daily% can be manipulated.
For eg. if you borrowed and shorted 1.1m but at the same time bought 3m to cover all your old shorts there would still be the 1.1m shorted for the day but the gross short sales % would be down.
Shorting a stock after a TO rumor is confirmed makes no sense as a trade unless there are other motives behind it. IMO some if not all of the 1.1mil shorted last Thursday could have simply been churned to cap the price for shorters/ instos buying into it at current prices but we'll have to wait until next Friday to find out.
