I haven't shorted any Lynas shares but I am thinking that maybe property should be short able.

Prices in Australia seem way overpriced given the amount of land available and what you can buy comparatively overseas.

I tend to agree with soulsurfer philosophy. Just as longs can push the price to exuberant highs. This is when shorts keep a lid on sensibility and start buying and then cover at extreme lows. The converse is exactly true for those who are long.

I also don't think the ban on shorts did much for the market at all. Long term as I am I don't think it shorts make a big difference, although it can make for an interesting ride short term.
