Those shorting this stock have had a dream run over the last few years, due I believe to their superior knowledge (compared to the average punter) of what is involved in a startup biotech getting their products to market. They were well aware of the time constraints that dog companies like UNIS. Add to this is the way the company has managed their announcements and you have the perfect combination for shorting. I have learnt a lot about how the stock market in the US works, watching UNIS struggle to survive.
The latest report on short interest I believe (up to the 15th of January) is due out after trading tonight on the Nasdaq.
If there is not a substantial reduction in the short numbers for the first half of January, then that to me is a concern given the large volumes on some days, as the volumes of late have settled down somewhat.
Will be the first thing I check when I get up tomorrow.
Good luck to us all...long term and short term!
