    As of today,ASIC data for the year 2020 on short positions covers the period 2 Jan to 15 May 2020.

    .

    At the startof 2020 (2 Jan 2020) there were 18,352,632 short positions.

    Over thefollowing 3 months the shorters have modestly increased their short position by 461,637 (or 2.5%) until its reached its highest point on 31 March 2020 ie. 18,814,269 short positions.

    Over thenext 10 weeks, outstanding short positions have declined by 8.5% (or 1,612,055 shares) to reach their lowest level on 15 May 2020, namely 17,202,214 short positions.
