better to be long from $1 than short from $6.70-IMHO the short would have been a trade to take in the range of 7.77 to 8.87 or on lower side range break if you super quick not at 6.79 but traders shorting there would have hoped to tight stop but the stock didnt reopen before more news comes out and that could be massive gap city with shortcover rally on top of that as no one will sell at less than bid and burning shorters must cover quickly!
