Short position followers should be careful on daily reporting on short sales at ASIC, there is some degree on leniency on reporting requirements if you go read up on them. The weekly trends are reliable given the requirements, but daily dips and spikes often recorrect as just reporting anomalies. Sometimes you will see them change more than the daily trading volume. A more obvious example of the problem.
