There are problems with shorters.
Here is an example.
I am a billionaire. I buy 60% of the stock of a company at IPO.
It's a great company goes very well has solid profits.
The SP rises and rises.
I then short the stock and keep on shorting it over and over again to the point where holders give up, get sick of losing money
and sell out. The SP drops, I close my shorts at a profit. The SP gradually goes up again.
It's complete monopoly and manipulation and as I had a long and short holding my personal gain was hedged and I was never at risk.
