Look the thing I disagree with on this is that I developed a completely legit long/short CFD trading system. Only use capital of $200,000 so no market moving from me. I simply take a breakout of 2*ATR either long or short, figuring that if a stock moves twice its daily ATR there is a good chance it will continue for a bit and I can take a small section of the move.

Now the only strategy one can use is long. That means that when we have to sit through a bear market, making money is exceptionally difficult unless you are an extremely gifted trader and makes it very difficult to make a living trading in a bear market.

The best idea in my opinion is to re introduce the uptick rule. Should never have been removed in the first place. That stops predatory short selling.
