    I thought it may be helpful for some HotCopper readers, if I posted the following link on short selling. You may gain a greater understanding of the present situation.

    I found this to be an appropriate quote:
    "Negative news, such as litigation against a company will also entice professional traders to sell the stock short. Because both the short seller and the original long holder can sell the same shares at the same time, selling pressures can be artificially magnified during such times, causing larger price drops than would be normally justified by the negative news.
