"The "provides liquidity" argument is rubbish"

So the million dollars of stock I bought back on Friday was rubbish?

Miners short sell, farmers short sell...heaps of markets sell items they dont have because they think the prices are good prices to sell at. They take the risk that prices may rise even further and it costs them money but its a good way for businesses to run and even start up.

If you think something is fundamentally cheap because of short sellers then buy it...I would.

Its the same every time there is a market dive, its because of the short sellers.
I will tell you again if you want someone to blame for falling markets what the reason is, directors putting too much risk on their books.
The public being too indebted and govts not regulating markets and lending well enough.

No body complains about margin lending being the reason why markets tumble, or people borrowing more than they can afford to buy stocks.

If your going to whinge then whinge about the directos, the govts, the pigs in the trough and a heaps of half wit investors that get swept up in greed.
