short selling, market manipulation by rumour, insider trading, unfair media reporting.....all are part of the market and must be allowed for by a company that chooses to trade publicly - good luck with the reforms and the personality, value and systemic juriprudential changes required to the capitalist system.
The best way for a company to guard against these factors is to have a strong balance sheet based on credible assets and sound corporate governance. Seen in this context MFS short selling was an effect rather than a cause of its demise. Discussion invited.
The position here at Valhalla is illustrative: King has turned up - they outed him on calling himself 'Octaviar' and then he said his real name is 'Christodoulous, noble warrior who died in combat at the hands of the short-sellers'. This tilt at being one of the chosen dead has been flatly rejected by Odin while Lord D'Aloisio simply looks confused.
..........meanwhile the god Bragi asks where the thundering sound is coming from, that the benches of Valhalla are creaking - as if the god Baldr had returned to Valhalla, and that it sounds like the movement of a thousand. Odin responds that Bragi knows well that the sounds are for Eric Bloodaxe, who will be soon arriving in Valhalla...........
