You'd need a broker who will facilitate short selling for you. Most don't offer it. And of those who do, it's not a straight froward set up for the average retail trader.
The other option is CFDs. Then you'll find a tiny number of speccy stocks are available to trade short, not the entire exchange. And the spread is massive.
Maybe you know of a different way, but my understanding is it's not worth it. Retail traders who short would be looking at stocks like AMP. Remember when you're short, you're swimming against the tide. ie. the stock market always goes up over a long enough TF.
