Literally contact your broker. Each broker will be different in response, but will allfundamentally have an agreement in place from when you set up your account, likely hidden deep in the fine print, that you have given them permission to lend your stocks.
Having been on the end of a short squeeze in dealing with options in RIO's I can tell you the underlying effect on the stock is huge.
